A few words from Derek & Vanessa
Meridian Meadows would like to welcome all of those who have moved into the “park” over the summer. Welcome! We hope you are enjoying living here.
General Information:
We have had a busy and very warm summer this year. On August 25th we said goodbye to a good friend. Thanks to all of you who made it out to Gerry’s Celebration of Life. It was a lovely day and it went really well. There were some lovely speeches and stories shared but to be honest it was hard to sum him up in four hours. We could have spoken about Gerry for Days. We are feeling his absence in the office more and more each day. He was a remarkable man and he left a legacy that we hope to continue on with. A big thank you to those of you in the park that helped make it a special day, you are much appreciated!
Please remember that you are responsible for your guests. The posted speed limit is 30 Km so please make your guests aware of this.
Community Events:
As you know every year we hold a “Beautiful Yard Competition”. We look for yard neatness, color and other interesting details, we also look for improvements. As I have mentioned in the past you make the job of picking four homes difficult! This year we had quite a few nominations as well. Most of the time we don’t get to see the back yards so we have no idea if there is a “National Park” back there so we rely on other people alerting us to this fact. This year the homes that were chosen are as follows: 32,73, 150, 226. Congratulations!! All of these people were nominated! You make us so proud and the park looks lovely. We have so many positive comments when people come in looking for homes and it because of you! Thank you.
Our ladies craft/chat night has started again for the winter season. It’s a lovely opportunity to meet your neighbors to create or just to have a nice chat. We have a lovely group who come with regularity but there is always room for more so please join us. I’d love to see you there. Tuesday nights 7-9 pm.
Odds and Ends
The dreaded four letter “S” word is coming: SNOW!! We have had a small taste recently and I am sure over the next 6 months or so we are going to see more of it. We will be getting the snow removal equipment ready soon so with that said I just wanted to remind you all that we do the bus routes first. Please don’t approach the machinery when it is working. They can’t see or hear you. If your kids are playing in the snow banks please do so after the men and equipment are finished.
If you see suspicious activity in the park please call 9-1-1. Don’t wait until the office is open. Call the police right away.
Would you like to keep up to date and join our online community? Please follow us on Facebook where we all have a chance to chat and share and keep up to date with breaking news! Search for us on Facebook; just remember to look for our duck logo to be directed to the correct page.
Fall is a great time to check your furnace and heat tape. If you are having furnace/hot water trouble please call Vanessa at the office for a list of good reputable companies that we enjoy working with.
Dogs: Dogs! Ugh its always the same discussion. Please don’t let it bark all day long and pick up after it! I don’t know how to say it nicely anymore.
If you have a complaint or concern please drop off a signed letter in our office or the mail room and I will get back to you as soon as possible. If you don’t sign it I can’t deal with it properly. Anonymous, ranting letters will not be dealt with at all.
If your phone number has changed or your banking information has changed please let the office know at meridianmeadows@telus.net or call the office at 780-968-2218.
Enjoy the future winter season that will be upon us shortly. Remember it’s a time of re-birth and rest. At least there will be no bugs or snakes around.
Thought to Ponder: If you think you are too small to be effective, you have never been in the dark with a mosquito!
