A few words from Gerry, Derek, & Vanessa
We would like to extend a warm welcome to the new folks who have moved into the Park this summer. We welcome you and we sincerely hope you enjoy living in the meadows!!
General Information:
We have had a lovely summer this year. The weather has been nice and warm and we have had a bumper crop of flowers and fruit it seems as well. If you would like some of your neighbor’s apples; please ask first. Please remember that the speed limit throughout the Park is 30 km/hr. Your guests are your responsibility as well so please make them aware of this fact too. We have had a lot of complaints about noisy mufflers and loud motorbikes in the area as well. If your muffler is loud please have it fixed as it’s very disruptive to be awoken by extremely loud cars.
Community Events:
As you know we are still trying to get more connected to our community via Facebook and every week we get more follows and likes! Our website continues to get more traffic to it as well. A new service that we are offering to residents looking to sell their home by owner is a reasonably priced package to take photos of the home, create a personalized feature sheet for use during showings, and list it on our website. Please contact the office if this is something of interest to you.
Every year we hold our “Beautiful Yard and Most Improved” competition. We look for yard neatness, flowers and other interesting details. Every year you make our job of choosing harder for us. We could honestly give out so many rewards however we have to keep it to 4 so the gardens that were chosen this year are #183, #185, #29B and #146 for most improved. Most of these gardens were nominated by their neighbors. Congratulations to you all. You deserve a massive round of applause.
We held our 25th Anniversary celebration back in August and it was a huge success. We had the most wonderful weather and we blew through a whole bunch of hotdogs and hamburgers. We had some wonderful guests attend and I think it’s safe to say that Gerry was very pleased with the turnout so a big heartfelt thank you to all who attended. We continue almost on a daily basis to get compliments about the park and that makes us swell with pride and its really because of all the wonderful people who take such pride in their homes that we receive these compliments. We will continue to make this Park something truly special!
Odds and Ends:
Snow: Yikes! Well we all know its coming so we had better get used to the idea. Our staff will be getting the snow removal equipment, so with that, it’s worth mentioning that when the white stuff does appear we will do our best to get to it right away. The main road (bus route) will be done first followed by the cul-de-sacs. Please don’t shovel the snow onto the road. The moisture is good for your grass so please leave it there. Please don’t approach the guys while they are operating the equipment. They can’t hear you! If your kids are playing in the piles of snow please remind them that the operators will come back to do some grooming. Keep them safe by waiting until all the snow is removed.
We have had some thefts from vehicles and a stolen vehicle this summer so please keep your vehicles locked. Its so sad that I have to say this and especially in our Park but there are desperate people out there and none of us are immune. If you see suspicious activity please don’t wait until the office is open, call the police right away.
Our ladies craft night has started again. This runs every Tuesday from 7-9 in the office. Everyone is welcome to attend; crafter or not. It’s a nice night out and a great way to get you know each other better. We have the most wonderful group of ladies whom attend with regularity and we would love to have more!
Fall is a great time to check your furnace and heat tape. If you are having furnace/water trouble just call Vanessa at the office for a list of good reputable companies.
Dogs: We still seem to have a problem with poop not being picked up in the yards or on the street and common areas. Over the last ten years I have tried to come up with different ways of wording this problem but I’m at a loss. Pick up after your dog!! Cats have also been a problem lately. Please keep them inside. You all have permission to access a trap from the Animal Control Center @ 780-963-8650 and trap them if need be.
If anyone has a complaint or concern please drop me a line at meridianmeadows@telus.net or a signed note in our mailbox. If you don’t sign it I can’t address it properly. Ranting anonymous letters will not be dealt with at all.
If your phone number or banking information has changed please let me know at meridianmeadows@telus.net or call the office at 780-968-2218.
In Closing
Enjoy your winter and if your one of the lucky ones who are fortunate to head south with the geese please be safe and we will see you in the spring.
