A few words from Gerry, Derek, and Vanessa
Spring is finally here!! Warmer weather brings out walkers, bikers, and children playing so please be reminded that the speed limit throughout the park is 30 km. For you walkers out there please wear reflective or light clothing. I almost ran over someone wearing all dark colours a few weeks ago!
We would like to extend a warm welcome to our new neighbors that have moved into the park this past winter. We hope you are enjoying living in the Meadows.
General Information:
As some of you may be aware, we are getting more and more connected with our community. We now have a website and are also on Facebook so please join us, like us, or comment. We love the feedback!
The Town of Stony Plain will be holding its annual Treasure Hunt. This event will take place on May 5th to 7th followed by the Large Item Pick Up the week of May 8th to 12th. Check out the Stony Plain Reporter and the town’s website at stonyplain.com for more information of allowable items that can be put out at the curb. This is a great service that the Town provides and we should all take advantage of it. If you have old “stuff” piled outside your home, please drag it to the curb. Clean out the house and yard and let the Town take all the heavy stuff away! IF YOUR “STUFF” IS NOT OUT IN TIME FOR THE LARGE ITEM PICK-UP THEN THE TOWN WILL NOT PICK IT UP. They came back repeatedly last year and will not do it again this year.
We will be having the streets swept soon. IF you see the sweeper we ask that you please remove your vehicle from the street. We will keep you posted as the day draws closer.
Earlier in March a notice was put in your mailbox regarding our Community Garage Sale, which will be held on May 27th, 2017. Maps will be given out at the office on that day so if you would like to have your name on the list, please phone the office. It was a huge success last year and so much fun!
We should be welcoming some new additions to the mark within the next month; yes we will hopefully have some new little geese to enjoy. PLEASE DO NOT DISTURB THEM IN ANY WAY! We will be replacing the goose sign that went missing this winter. If you have any information as to where that sign went please let us know.
Complaint Department
If you are having an issue with dog owners not cleaning up after their pets, please report this behaviour to the Community Peace Officers at 780-963-8650. Furthermore, dogs found wandering the park will be reported to the Peace Officers – if they capture the dog and bring it home, the owner(s) will be charged a large fine.
In regards to cats, we strongly suggest that you do not allow them to wander. Your neighbors are within their rights to trap them and take them to the pound, resulting in a large fine.
If anyone has any complaints or concerns, please drop me a SIGNED letter to the MM Mailbox or phone me directly. If you don’t sign the letter then we cannot deal with the complaint properly.
Odds and Ends
- If you would like to receive these newsletters via email, please send us an email at meridianmeadows@telus.net
- When selling your home please advise your realtor that signs ARE NOT to put in the ground. Signs in the window or sandwich boards on the lawn are allowed.
- It is now April so if your Christmas decorations etc. are still out please take them down.
In Closing
We are pleased that we have been receiving so many wonderful comments about our community lately and it’s because of you, our Tenants so we would like to take this opportunity to thank you. We feel fortunate to have such wonderful people living here.
