A few words from Gerry, Derek, & Vanessa
Mmm the long blissful days of summer have arrived! The smell of fresh cut grass is enough to put anyone in a happy mood! Please remember that with the nice warm weather comes more people outside enjoying it so please slow down and remember that the speed limit is 30 km. Your guests are your responsibility so please remind them of the speed limit as well. We have a family of little geese so please drive carefully by the pond. If you have recently moved into our Community; welcome!
General Information:
As you know we have been trying to get more connected to our Community through our facebook page, Meridian Meadows and our web-site; meridianmeadows.ca. I am very happy with the feedback we have been getting from both. We have been getting so much traffic on our website that we will now be offering a listing service. For a one time fee which includes posting professional interior and exterior pictures of your home, a brief write-up, and listing it on-line, until your home sells. Please contact the office if this is something of interest to you.
Community Events:
The treasure hunt was a success and I think a lot of people were in the park that weekend. This year the Town put orange stickers on the items that were not allowable so if your stuff was not hauled away that was why. There is a complete list at the Town if anyone wants one next year. I will be also listing those items on facebook, so please join us there.
What a beautiful weekend we had for the 2nd Annual Community Garage Sale”!! I think I made it to everyone’s sale and I must say I collected a few gems along the way; as did my husband! We had over 30 participants this year. If you have any ideas for next year on how we could improve it please drop by the office or email me.
Meridian Meadows is turning 25 this August!! Its hard to believe that the first home went in in 1992. The Edwards’ had a vision of a beautiful community and by George they have excelled at it! We will be having a BBQ on August 26th from noon – 3 pm. Everyone is welcome to join us. That day is also Gerry’s 83rd birthday. More info to follow.
Our Beautiful Yard Competition is on once again. We choose three homes that display an array of color and yard neatness and also most improved. This is such a hard job for us as there are so many of you that put a ton of effort into your yards and homes. If your neighbor has an incredible yard and you would like to nominate them by all means call the office or email us to let us know about it.
We have been contacted by Sam’s Drug Mart in Spruce Grove for permission to offer a free blood pressure, glucose testing clinic once a month in the Park with possible flu vaccination clinics in the future. Is this a service that you would be interested in? If so please call or email the office.
Complaint Department:
DOG FECES!! Please, please, please pick up after your dog! Your yard must be kept clear of dog poop. Because of the way that our homes are laid out here your neighbors windows open up into your yard and if you have a yard full of poop well guess what; it stinks! It is not fair to your neighbors. We have toyed with the idea of making the park a dog-free zone but we really don’t want to do that because we know how much your pets mean to you.
There are a few garden shed’s and decks that could use a little attention around the community. If you can’t afford to have your shed sided to match the house then please apply a coat of paint to keep it looking fresh. We have some names of good local carpenters at the office.
Yards: I was driving around the park the other day and I noticed that there are a few yards that require some TLC. Please mow your grass on a regular basis and weed your planters.
The Stony Plain Reporter in the front of the office has been a hot topic lately. If you are getting a paper please only take one so that everyone has a chance to get one. Printed news is in a decline and therefore are not being printed as much but having said that the reporter will be dropping of more papers for us. If you didn’t receive one and have access to the internet you can read the entire edition online at stonyplainreporter.com
